Numerous cultures throughout history have rich traditions of incorporating humans and animal figures into their ceramic forms. The impetus for this exhibition was to bring together a small cross-section of contemporary artists who continue this rich tradition. They employ a range of ceramic techniques and motivations behind using human and animal forms as a vehicle for expression.

This dynamic exhibition is curated by Chris Berti, Parkland ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉútv professor of art and design who teaches courses in ceramics, three-dimensional design, and sculpture. The exhibit features nationally recognized artists and will run through Saturday, February 5, 2022.

An reception will be on Thursday, October 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in conjunction with the exhibit. Weather permitting, Giertz Gallery will open the doors to the outdoor area to encourage conversations after viewing the show. Due to COVID restrictions, attendance is limited and registration is required for the in-person event.Ìý
