Agricultural Business: Management, Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.)

The 62-63 semester hour A.A.S. degree program prepares students for positions in various agriculture businesses, including agricultural marketing and processing firms, fertilizer/chemical suppliers, seed dealers, and agriculture production and management.

Agri-Business Certificate

The 30-semester hour certificate program provides students with general knowledge in the areas of agri-marketing, agri-supply, and agricultural production.

Precision Ag Technology, Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.)

The 60-semester hour A.A.S. degree program prepares students for positions that require the use of current technology in agriculture such as global navigation satellite systems, geographic information systems, precision software programs, precision hardware/equipment, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Students are prepared for positions with soil testing companies, crop consulting firms, fertilizer and chemical suppliers, and agriculture equipment dealers.

Precision Ag Technology Certificate

The 17-semester hour certificate program provides current students and graduates with the base knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in the evolving ag industry. The certificate will increase competencies in global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), geographic information systems (GIS), precision ag software programs, precision ag equipment, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

Agriculture, Associate in Science (A.S.)

The 60-semester hour degree program can prepare students to transfer into baccalaureate degree programs in agriculture from various specialties, such as agricultural economics, agribusiness, agricultural sciences (animal science, crop or plant science, soil science, and horticulture), agricultural mechanics, and agriculture education.

Students are strongly encouraged to complete anÌýA.S. degree prior to transfer. Since admission is competitive, completion of the recommended courses does not guarantee admission.

Advanced Applicator Technician, Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.)

The 61-semester hour A.A.S degree program prepares students for careers as advanced applicator technicians with knowledge in crop input practices andÌýprecision technology developments.ÌýContinuous changing of government regulations demonstrates the need for greater technical expertise and training to ensure the proper application of fertilizer and chemicals. Advanced applicator technician students will demonstrate proficiency in basic agronomic skills,Ìýeffectively operating applicator equipment,Ìýapplying knowledge of applicator procedures, Department of Transportation and Environmental Protection Agency regulations, general maintenance and repair of application equipment,Ìýand use of precision agriculture technologies.

Agricultural Retail Operations Certificate

The 16-semester hour certificate program trains students in inventory management, computer skills, and agronomic and mathematics skills needed in day-to-day operations at retail facilities.

Geographic Information Systems Certificate

The 12-semester hour program teaches GIS, a method of using data gathered from various sources, including Global Position Satellite (GPS) systems, to develop "layers" of information about a geographic location. Applications are used in mapping streets, utilities, environmental markers, crime studies, and many other types of physical and societal information. It is an emerging industry that also has emerging career opportunities.Ìý
