What You'll Study

Salzburg ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉútv is a private college for English-speaking students located in the heart of the city. At the college, students attend classes taught in English by Austrian professors. Classes are small and allow for a close relationship with the instructor.

Required Courses
(Full-semester programs only; all summer courses are selected by the student)

  • German Language at appropriate level (all levels available – no previous language experience is required)
  • Understanding Austria

Elective Courses (courses subject to change)

Students will earn up to 13 transferable credits during the Fall and Spring semesters and up to 7 transferable credits during the summer semester.

  • International Public Relations
  • Modern Austrian Literature
  • Music History
  • Printmaking
  • The European Union

Activities

  • Enjoy trips to Germany (spring and fall) and Vienna (all sessions)
  • Participate in numerous course-related day trips and local excursions.
  • Soak up the cultural richness of Salzburg during various social and cultural activities.
  • Have a real Austrian experience by living with an Austrian family.
  • Get physical! Enjoy hiking, rafting, skiing.

Included in Program:

Instructional costs in Austria, a choice of residence hall or home stay housing, and numerous course-related field trips are included with the program.

Airfare, airport transfers to Salzburg ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉútv, required visa, one credit hour of Parkland ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉútv tuition and fees, and personal expenses are not included.

$500-$1000 Illinois Consortium for International Studies and Programs (ICISP) scholarship available.Ìý°ä´Ç²Ô³Ù²¹³¦³ÙÌýjlittleton@parkland.edu for application form. Deadline for application is February 15.

$500 Honors Stipend Available to Honors Program Students who complete an Honors Project. For information on how to join the Honors program contact Marsh Jones at mjones@parkland.edu.
